Panther Run is set to be Wellness Way’s largest development
The 2,241-acre master-planned community from developer GT USA would stretch from U.S. 27 to the Orange County line, dedicating 72.5% of its land to green space — more than 1,170 acres of preserved wetlands and lakes plus 456 acres of parks, trails and wildlife habitat — while reserving over 1 million square feet of employment space, land for a proposed high school and an eight-acre public-safety complex. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.

Lake County’s Wellness Way corridor covers more than 16,000 acres between Interstate 4, Florida’s Turnpike and U.S. 27, planned for over 15,500 housing units and more than 11 million square feet of non-residential space. The county pitches it on the human-performance and health-sciences work anchored at the National Training Center, South Lake Hospital and Lake-Sumter State College.
