Westcourt: the project's financier lists a Q3 2026 – Q4 2028 construction window
Golden Gate Global, raising EB-5 money for the district, lists construction running Q3 2026 through Q4 2028 — a 265-key Kimpton hotel, 269 multifamily units and a 1,145-stall seven-story garage — with the offering described as nearly 50% pre-booked at $800,000 per investment. No formal groundbreaking or construction-loan closing has been announced through Aug. 31; site and enabling work was last confirmed in early May. Sources also disagree on the district's cost (Turner Construction and WFTV say $500 million; GrowthSpotter has used $900 million) and on the residence count (269 here, 270 at approval).

Westcourt: crews are on site doing early foundation work, a year behind schedule
Turner Construction was hired May 5 as general contractor for the $500 million Westcourt district on the 8.5 acres just north of the Kia Center, and crews have started early site work — surveying, utility mapping and test piles for the foundations — ahead of full mobilization. It's the first physical movement since tariff-spooked lenders told the developers to hold off closing their construction loan in spring 2025, a pause partner David Carlock says 'set us back a year.' The Magic-backed district — a Kimpton hotel, roughly 270 apartments, offices, retail and a 3,500-person Live Nation venue — is now projected to open in late 2028.
